Early childhood education and school groups

Reservations can be made year round at Haltia's customer service: haltia(at)metsa.fi or +358 (0) 40 163 6200.

The pricing of the guided tours is per child/pupil or per group. Adults following the groups are free of charge. Entrance tickets are cheaper for groups arriving from municipalities that are funding Haltia (Espoo, Helsinki, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi, Vantaa ja Vihti).

Ohto's adventure is about to begin.

Ohto, son of the Great Bear

Target groups: 4 to 6 years old
Price: 60 €/group (max. 20 children/guide), entrance tickets for children under the age of 7 are free of charge
Duration: 45 min
Available languages: Finnish, Swedish and English
Ohto has gotten lost from his mother and is now asking children to help him find her. Ohto’s story will lead you into Haltia’s main exhibition and amidst a wonderful adventure. The guided tour follows a scripted story and is full of action. 

Finnish nature

Target groups: school classes from 1st to 9th
Price: 1,50 €/pupil (max. 25 children/guide) + 2,50€/pupil entrance fee (1 €/pupil for the funding municipalities)
Duration: 1 hour
Available languages: all Haltia's official guiding languages
Haltia's main exhibition presents the entire Finnish nature in a memorable way. The guide leads the group on an adventure in Finnish nature with a sneak peak into winter, nocturnal environment, streaming water and different animals' dens. The students will get familiar with landscapes from archipelago to fells.

Inside the snowy canyon

Target groups: school classes from 3rd to 4th
Price: 1,50 €/pupil (max. 25 children/guide) + 2,50€/pupil entrance fee (1 €/pupil for the funding municipalities), for 3rd and 4th graders from Espoo city free KULPS-program which includes entrance tickets (with no maximum quotas).
Duration: 1 hour
Available languages: Finnish, Swedish and English
What can one find inside endless tunnels of an ants' nest? Which animal has arranged air conditioning into their nest? Guided tour full of action will inspire into the world of architecture through the brilliant architectonic solutions that different animal species have invented. 

Transformations -work shop

Target groups: school classes from 5th to 9th
Price: 100 €/group (max. 25 children/guide) for 5th to 9th graders from Espoo city free KULPS-program which includes entrance tickets (once during semester).
Duration: 1 hour
Available languages: Finnish, Swedish and English
What is process of design like? What kind of creative ideas one can come up with in nature? Pupils will get acquainted with different phases of design process and will learn to apply them in their own work using materials and inspiration from nature. During the work shop group will go outside on a forest hike.

Art in the nature 

Target groups: 5 to 6 years old
Price: 60 €/group (max. 20 children/guide)
Duration: 1 hour

The children get to explore Haltia's nearby nature with a guide through playing games and trying out active art methods. The aim is to enjoy the nature together and look for interesting details.

Nature trail with Frank the Flying Squirrel

Target groups: 5 to 6 years old
Price: 60 €/group (max. 20 children/guide)
Duration: 1 hour 
Available languages: Finnish, Swedish and English
The adventure with Leevi the Flying Squirrel will take place on the trails in Haltia's nearby nature. The aim is to get to know the life of the flying squirrel as well as with nature through playing games and exploring. 

Animal's Olympic Games

Target groups: early childhood education groups and school classes 1st-3rd
Price: 100 €/group (max. 25 children/guide). Free of charge for Espoo Schools classes 1.-2. (KULPS)
Duration: 1,5 hours
Available languages: Finnish, Swedish and English
Can you tiptoe to catch your pray as silently as a lynx? Do you run faster than a bear? Do you hold the strength of an ant? Can you jump further than a rabbit? Animal's Olympic Games is an active guided tour in the beautiful nature of Nuuksio. Join us in a playful and active event full of exercise! The goal is to support children's motoric basic skills and exercising in nature. 

Into the forest!

Target group: school classes 1st-4th 
Price: 1,50 €/pupil (max. 25 children/guide)
Duration: 1 hour
Available languages: Finnish, Swedish and English
You will learn about biodiversity of the forest by hiking along the circular trail Päivättärenpolku (1,4 kilometers). During this guided tour you will get to explore and experience forest with all senses.

Duration: 1 hour

You will learn about the biodiversity of the forest by hiking along the circular trail Päivättärenpolku (1,4 kilometers). In this active guided tour we will explore the nature and ponder over the significance of forest to us humans.
